Apprentice project: FACC Future Team supports local families

The FACC Future Team has raised a total of EUR 12,880 in a raffle, which will now be donated to people from the region who have suffered misfortunes. The main prize is a self-designed slot machine in the shape of a rocket.

The annual apprentice project of the FACC Future Team has become a long-standing tradition. Every year, FACC apprentices showcase their skills by participating in a joint charitable project. Following previous contributions, which include a pool table, a dart machine and a drone, all built using lightweight construction techniques, this year's team has worked on a very special project: an arcade slot machine in the shape of a rocket. Raffle tickets for the coveted collector's item were sold to FACC employees in the run-up to Christmas, and the lucky winner was drawn at the company Christmas party.

A total of EUR 6,440 worth of raffle tickets were sold to staff at this year's 9th FACC prize draw - FACC AG matched the donated amount, thus bringing the total to EUR 12,880. The proceeds will be donated to families of FACC employees and people from the region who suffered severe misfortunes last year.

"Our apprentice project is unique every year, and showcases the outstanding professional and social skills of our apprentices. The proceeds and donations are particularly close to our hearts. For years, we have been showing that we are there for each other, while also expressing our strong attachment to the Innviertel region," adds CEO Robert Machtlinger.

The arcade slot machine

A team of 11 apprentices worked approximately 1,000 hours to create the high-quality arcade slot machine in the shape of a rocket. All work steps, from brainstorming, planning and construction to the production of the tools and the carbon elements, were performed by the apprentices themselves. They are also responsible for deciding on how the donations are to be used. The spacey design stands for FACC's success in the new Space segment: last November, the company was commissioned by ArianeGroup to manufacture important structural components for the Ariane 6. The outer skin of the "apprentice rocket" is made of carbon, a material used in outer space. The slot machine also features an illuminated minibar for cooling drinks. The main prize, including 256 installed games, went to a FACC employee from St. Martin im Innkreis, who literally hit the jackpot at the FACC Christmas party.
