FACC celebrates 35 years of innovation together with customers and partners

Last weekend, the who's who of the international aviation industry came together at the Scalaria on Lake Wolfgang: FACC celebrated 35 successful years together with its customers and long-standing partners.

It is the beginning of a success story: In 1989, a small team of visionaries from the Fischer Ski & Tennis research department founds FACC. 35 years later, FACC AG is one of the largest companies in the international aviation industry and counts all major manufacturers worldwide to its customers - including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Comac, Embraer, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls Royce. As part of the Living Legends of Aviation Europe Awards, this anniversary was celebrated by FACC together with the who's who of the aviation industry last weekend: For the fourth time, the ‘Oscars of Aviation’ were awarded to the best of the best from aviation, aerospace and business at the Event Resort scalaria in St. Wolfgang am Wolfgangsee. At the invitation of the Management Board team of FACC AG, numerous customers of FACC AG were also present to celebrate 35 years of FACC together with the Management Board team and members of the Supervisory Board.

‘FACC AG has been developing innovative lightweight construction technologies for the international aviation industry together with its customers for over 35 years. During this time, we have made history with our customers. Today, we are facing one of the most exciting decades in aviation history with new mobility concepts in the field of Advanced Air Mobility and, above all, a new generation of even lower-emission passenger aircraft. This anniversary is therefore above all an opportunity for us to look to the future together with our partners,’ emphasises CEO Robert Machtlinger.

As part of the Living Legends of Aviation Gala, FACC's birthday cake was also ceremoniously cut. Another highlight of the high-calibre event was a performance by Morgan Freeman's concert series ‘The Symphonic Blues Experience’, which celebrated its European premiere in the picturesque setting of Lake Wolfgang with blues legends from the Ground Zero Blues Club.

Science Lounge on technology issues of the future

As part of the event, a Science Lounge was also held, where experts from science and business discussed the latest developments and challenges in the aviation industry. On this occasion, FACC provided insights into the aircraft cabin of the future: in addition to the use of sustainable biological materials, the company is focusing in particular on approaches for the further advancement of a circular economy in the aviation industry.
