FACC Future Team on top: apprentices with excellent apprenticeship qualifications

After completing 4 years of apprenticeship training at FACC, 10 members of the FACC Future Team passed their final apprenticeship examinations with distinction or merit. The Upper Austrian aerospace group is not just proud of these extraordinary achievements, but also of the 12 new apprentices who joined the FACC Future Team in mid-August.

As one of the leading technology groups in the aerospace industry, FACC not only specializes in the innovative development and efficient production of aircraft components, but also focuses on the training and advancement of its future specialists. FACC's commitment to top apprenticeship training is once again reflected in the outstanding results achieved by this year's graduates of the final apprenticeship examination, with 7 of the 10 apprentices passing with distinction and 3 with merit.

"We are delighted that such dedicated apprentices who have achieved such fantastic results now continue to support FACC as employees. I would also like to thank the apprentice instructors, who put in their best efforts year after year to offer the apprentices the best possible training," says Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC. Machtlinger himself began his career at FACC as a young technician more than thirty years ago.

More than just training

An apprenticeship at FACC consists of more than just excellent training. The FACC Future Team spends a lot of time together, attends exciting training sessions, goes on action-packed excursions and works together every year on the so-called final-year project. Here, the apprentices learn how to plan and execute a project and work together on its realization. In the end, the final product is raffled off at the annual FACC Christmas Party. The apprentices donate all profits to charitable causes. The past projects of the FACC Future Team include a dart machine and a billiard table. This year, they are working on developing their own drone.

In addition to above-average gross monthly salaries, incentives to complete an apprenticeship at FACC include support from the company other than during training - bonuses for vocational school certificates and apprentice competitions, intensive preparatory training for the final apprenticeship examination, a public transport pass for young people allowing apprentices and school pupils to use all public transport throughout Upper Austria and, last but not least, a day off work on their birthday. What's more, if apprentices achieve particularly good results during their apprenticeship training, they also receive financial support towards their Class B driving license.

Diversity in the FACC Future Team

Future metalworking and cutting technicians, plastics engineers, process technicians, design engineers, IT systems engineers and IT application developers (coding) receive training at FACC - the Upper Austrian aerospace company offers training in a wide range of fields. In order to find out which of these disciplines is your desired profession, FACC offers trial and internship days to give you a first glimpse of your future working life before starting your apprenticeship.

This diversity is reflected not only in the type of professions, but also in the new members of the FACC Future Team. In mid-August, 12 apprentices, 7 girls and 5 boys, started their training at the state-approved training company. "We are of course delighted that, for the first time, more girls than boys have started to train with us. But irrespective of whether male or female, all technology enthusiasts have come to the right place and are more than welcome here," says Helmut Winkler, Head of Training in the field of plastics engineering and cutting technology.

Trial days

Starting in autumn, FACC will once again be seeking dedicated young people who are interested in technology and want to take advantage of the opportunity to train with one of the leading companies in the aviation industry. Future apprentices can complete trial days between September and April. For more information on apprenticeship training at FACC, please go to facc.com/en/Jobs-careers/Apprenticeship-training.
